All right, so this video is all about the city of Lake Elsinore and what's changing here in 2025. So this is gonna be the last video in our What's Changing series. You know, we've done videos covering Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee and now this one's gonna be all about Lake Elsinore. If you haven't seen the others, you're gonna see 'em earlier on in the feed.
But I had a chance to go to the city Managers meeting, hear from everybody about all the cool stuff that's gonna be happening here in 2025. So let's go ahead and get into it.
Hey guys. Hey again. My name is Justin Short. I'm a realtor and team leader here with the short real estate team here at Keller Williams in Temecula, California. This video is all about the city of Lake Elsinore. Um, if you haven't seen our last few postings, this is a part of a little series. I've been doing that each year for the last three or four years now, but I had a chance to go to a city manager's meeting.
I heard from the city manager for, for the City of Lake Elsinore and all the other surrounding cities, and they laid out their plan here. Over the next 12 months. They talked about all the cool stuff that Lake Elsinore has done lately and then what all the projects they're working on and what they have coming soon.
So I think it's really cool information. It's really helpful for me and it's something I'm able to talk to my clients about. So hopefully you guys think it's helpful as well. Um, but I, I'm gonna get into all the information, kind of talk to you. There's actually a lot happening in Lake Elsinore.
Uh, there's a ton of construction. There's a ton of growth, a ton of housing, a ton of, you know, infrastructure that they're putting in. So this is definitely the city with the most going on right now, um, which I think is, is pretty cool. So, uh, before we get into all the information though, if you are like in real estate videos like this, please do me a favor, please hit like please subscribe.
Obviously it helps me, it helps my channel as we try to continue to grow it. And then if you guys have any real estate questions. You can feel free, you can email me, you can call me, you can text me.
Uh, that is my personal cell phone, so, you know, happy to answer any questions you guys might have. You know, I would love to point you in the right direction. See if I can give you some advice about the area, or of course, if I can actually help you out with your real estate search. You know, I'd love to do that.
So now we've helped a ton of people that have relocated here. We help dozens each year. Um, I would love to answer questions or, you know, of course, just be there and, uh, be able to help you with your search. So, uh, anyways, hopefully feel free to reach out. Okay, cool. Alright, so we'll get into all the information.
Um, again, kind of similar to the other presenters. So, you know, there's kinda, the city manager gets up and, and they give a little bit of a synopsis of kind of, you know, what's going on, you know, state of the city, what, what's happening Really, the one thing that they mentioned, which is what the city was really proud of, is they actually increased their revenue by $2.7 million over the last 12 months.
So that was a big, big jump up for them. Um, and with that, they have a ton of infrastructure projects that they have, that they're working on. So I'll talk about all those. And then they have a ton of, you know, housing developments and things that, just, just a lot of growth that they're working on.
Alright, so the first category that they talked about was the overall infrastructure and really they listed 51 capital improvement projects that they're currently working on, and that's gonna be for the fiscal year 2024 to fiscal year 2025. So, um, that's a ton of projects that they're working on.
And I guess I haven't pointed this out yet, but. One of the reasons that they are able to work on so many projects and they have so much going on, is because the city of Lake Elsinore is just a huge, huge area. So, um, it is, you kind of have an older part of the city, which if you look at a map, it's kind of around the lake.
I think that'd be considered like the older, older portion. And then you have some, a lot of new construction that's happening today. And then you've had a lot of homes that have been built over the last. You know, say 20 years. So from 2010 to, you know, 2020 or so. So a lot of that was more over on the east side of the freeway.
Um, and now the city is continuing to expand north. But if, if you just look at the overall footprint of the city and like just the square footage that it covers or the, I guess, acreage that it covers. It's a massive, massive city and there's still a ton of undeveloped land, so they're putting a lot of infrastructure in.
They're putting a ton of housing in over the next, really the next decade, and they just have a ton that's going on. So. Um, so as far as the projects they have going on, they rattled off a lot of the big ticket ones. So they have a new interchange going on, uh, uh, Nicholas Road. So that's a $42 million project.
So that's off the 15 freeway. Um, they have a new interchange that's going in. Off the Central Avenue exit, and that's a $45 million project. Um, they have another interchange that's going in off of, uh, Franklin Street, and that's actually a hundred million dollars project. I think that's actually a new, brand new exit that they're adding in off the freeway as well.
Um, it talked about their ongoing asphalt maintenance program. So they said they spend about $5 million every year redoing the, uh, the, the asphalt in, you know, different sections of the city. Um, they also have a new city. Hi. City hall building that they're working on right now. And that's this big, huge, massive, uh, building.
I guess it just broke ground, you know, over the last handful of months. And it's a 40,000 square foot building. So that's something that's currently under construction. And they also have a new library that the city's building, so that's a $10 million, you know, infrastructure job and that's that. They think they're breaking ground on that a little bit later this year.
And, also something they mentioned, which I didn't know was going on, I think is kind of cool. Um, they are building a brand new 6,000 square feet outdoor amphitheater. So they're planning to have that be kind of more of a central figure of the city. Um, I have a lot of different events and concerts and stuff and stuff there.
So I think that's kind of cool. And, uh, that is something that is, they're just getting ready to start construction on a little bit later this year. All right, so then the next thing that they talked about were some of the new shopping centers, you know, kind of commercial development that's, that's going on.
Um, in years past, there's been like a ton of different shopping centers that are actually under construction or, you know, almost being completed, et cetera. Um, this year there really wasn't that much, you know, new construction. But they did talk about a ton of businesses that are coming in to fill some of the empty spaces, or, and I think some of 'em are actually still, you know, new, new construction buildings that have recently gone up or will be going up soon.
So they rattle off like 25 different businesses. They have this big old list, um, but a couple of the main ones, they have a, a co, two different Dutch bros. Coffees that are openings that's like a second and third location in Lake Elara. Uh, there's a big, huge EOS gym that just opened up recently. It's supposed to be like the nicest in the area within like an hour radius.
Like it's supposed to be really, really nice, really, really big. Um, there is a second in and out location, uh, that that is opening. And then there's a new Stater Brothers grocery store that's gonna be opening as well. Alright, so then the next topic that they talked about was about public safety. And this one they actually spent a good amount of time talking about.
And, and the reason being, I think the city of Lake Elsinore probably has a reputation for not being as safe or well as, I guess as safe and as, uh, as quick as service as some of the surrounding cities, right? Like say Temecula, Murrieta or Menifee for that matter. Um, and this City of Lake Elsinore from what they're saying, they're trying, they've really been trying to work a ton on that.
Um, they're really proud of their response times. They've gotten a lot better over the last decade or so, and really they're just kind of trying to continue to grow their enforcement and, um, really the services that they provide. So they talked about how, you know, really they partner up with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, um, and they're, you know, the really, the, the.
The ones who patrol, uh, they provide patrolling services. They have detectives, you know, traffic enforcement, and then they help with the lake control, lake Patrol as well, lake Elsinore. So, um, they have two different, they have a two different stations in Lake Elsinor. And what they're proud of is their response times for what they consider like a priority.
One call is down, down to be less than six minutes, so 5.8 minutes. Um, so that's a big improvement over what it was, you know, in the past. So that's something they're really proud of. And then they also talked about Cal Fire. So, uh, so they use Cal Fire for, you know, the different, you know, fire services.
Uh, they are comprehensive. Fire protection is how they labeled it, um, including, you know, emergency medical. So, um, they have four different fire stations throughout the city and their average response time is down to 4.6 minutes. So even faster. So really they spent a while talking about this, about, you know, how much has improved, how much you're continuing to grow it.
And, um, that's something they're really proud of and that they were planning to put more money into in the future and continue to get better and better at. Alright, so next they talked about housing and all the different housing projects they have going on, and they're really, this is really, they really have a ton going on.
So, um, right now there are a total of 74 different track maps that have been improved by the city of Lake Elsinor. So 74 different tracks. Um, and that puts 'em on pace to have a total of 29,000 units in the pipeline. I think. From what I understand, the majority of those are housing units. Some of 'em are gonna be apartments and condos, but it's almost 30,000, you know, dwellings, you know, 29,000 dwellings that they're working on.
Uh, which is a ton. Um, there's 17 active home developments, so, um, that's. You know, all, all these, you know, different builders with these different communities, and you might go to one neighborhood, it might have a couple different communities within it, but 17 different ones that are going on right now. Um, that's a total of 1000 homes that are active under construction, and that's over across a total of 15 different neighborhoods.
So 15 different neighborhoods, 17 different developments. A total of 1000 different homes under construction and 29,000, um, slated to come some somewhat soon. So I think that's over like a five to seven year period. But, um, it's a ton that's happening and a ton of growth. And like I mentioned before, Lake Elsinore is a huge area.
There's still a ton of vacant land and a lot of space for 'em to build. Um, so it's gonna be an area that's gonna grow. More and more, you know, over the next decade for sure. Alright. And then the last thing that they talked about, which was actually pretty lengthy, uh, was all about the parks and rec division that the city offers and all the different amenities that they have out there for people to take advantage of.
And, and this is always something when I'm talking like with clients or people that haven't lived here in the area for a long time, they really don't know anything about. Um, and, and truthfully, you know, years ago, Lake Elsinore, the lake that is in Lake Elsinore, um, had a pretty poor reputation.
You know, people would say it was dirty or not well maintained and well, well taken care of. Um, and the city has done so much to really clean, clean that up and make it a really, really nice place. Um, they've put a ton of infrastructure in, a ton of money, a ton of investment, and it's actually, it's really, really nice.
Place. Um, they've done some really cool stuff with like their, their launch points area. Um, and they have a ton of different events that they have going on. So most people locally don't really know everything that there is to do in Lake Elsinor. And I think there's, there's a lot of really cool stuff. So, um, they talked a lot about the lake itself.
So it's a 3000 acre lake. I didn't realize this, but it is actually the largest freshwater lake in southern California, so, which is pretty cool. Um, and then the city of Lake Elsinor, like I mentioned before, they had like a bad reputation. The lake wasn't taken care of because of that. Um, they, they done, they've done all the infrastructure.
They did a ton to clean it up and make it a nice place, but they're actually the only city in the state of California that publishes its water quality ratings. And they do that to be accountable and to show people, you know, how far it's come, you know, it takes some time to kind of overcome those, um, those types of reputations.
But they really have done, done a ton. Um, they've been hosting, uh, the Jet Ski World Championship. Each year, which is something that's something I've never been to. I think that'd probably be kind of fun to check out. And then they talked about, you know, within the city there's a total of 240 different recreation areas.
So that's 20 parks. There's five different dog parks, there's three splash pads, there's three skate parks. And then the city puts on 25 special events a year, including their summer concert series, which, uh, that's something that they do at the Lake Elsinore Diamond, I believe. So, um, and then they talk about Launch Point.
So Launch Point is part of the, uh, you know, the lake. It's kind of like the rec area at, at Lake Elsinore. You know, it's where you can go camping and they have like a little, uh, you know, burger place and it's like you, where you can hang out and, you know, rent, you know, get a spot for your RV and camp and, and do all that stuff.
So, um, there's a total of 205 different spaces for RVs. Um, there's six themes, yurts that are, that are out there. There's nine vintage Airstreams that you can rent. Actually, I didn't know about the Airstreams. I think that's kind of cool. Uh, there's a fishing beach. There's, uh, the bobber, which is the restaurant.
Uh, there's boat rentals and then there's a pool as well as a flash pad. So there's really a ton. And it's actually, it's, it's really nice. It's not, it is only built I think sometimes, sometime in the last 10 years or so, but they keep adding on it and keep refreshing it. It's actually, it's a really, really nice place.
And then they also talked about the Lake Elsinore diamond. So if you don't know, uh, the Lake Elsinore storm, there are the minor league baseball Team. Their home base is out of Lake Elsinore. They're affiliated with the Padres, which, uh, you know, the San Diego Padres aren't too far, like they're stadiums like an hour or so away.
So it's a minor league team. They're a single A team, so a lot of like the new draft picks go there, or, um, you have some of like the padre players go there on like rehab assignments and stuff like that, so, which is cool. Um, but it's a, it's a pretty, pretty small stadium. Um, but there are a lot of baseball games that are a lot of fun to go to.
We take our kids a lot. It's super cheap. It's like 10, 15 bucks you can get in, you know, watch professional baseball. And, um, and I think it's, it's a good time. It's pretty laid back. It's not, usually not super packed or anything like that. I, and I think it's a pretty fun place to hang out. Um, but what they mentioned is, so the Lake Elsner Diamond, that's the name of the stadium is, is the Diamond.
Um, so they won the top minor league ballpark in the nation. So for the last two years in a row. Which is pretty cool. I did not know that. And, uh, they have a total of 60 different home, 66 different home games each year. And then plus they have a bunch of different concerts and events. So like, I've seen like the summer concert series where they have like, some of 'em like cover bands or maybe, uh, you know, smaller bands that they'll come and play a show or I've seen like comedy shows that they have there, or like, I think they had like the Latin King comedy there, like last year.
So we're always doing some different events and things there, and, uh, it's a, it's a pretty cool place. So it's, if you haven't had a chance to check it out, it's something I would recommend to do. And especially if you, if you all like sports or going to, you know, a live baseball game, I think it's, it's actually a pretty cool place and a lot of people do, do not know about it.
So even people have lived here for 10 years plus. So, uh, definitely something to, uh, to check out. So anyways, uh, that's what's going on, lake Elsinore. Hopefully it's good information for you guys. A little, uh. Uh, maybe some, hopefully some different information than you, you get elsewhere and if you guys have questions, feel free to reach out.
You can call, you can text, or you can email me and hopefully talk to you soon. Thanks.
